Rumors are swirling that James Franco and Brie Larson might both be joining ‘The Good Luck of Right Now’. Mike White has written the script based on Matthew Quick’s novel of the same name. The last book written by Quick that was adapted for the screen resulted in the critical darling and multiple Academy Award winner ‘Silver Linings Playbook’.
‘The Good Luck of Right Now’ “follows thirty-something shut-in Bartholomew, who, after the death of his mother, struggles to find a new sense of certainty and place to belong. He falls in with a similarly dysfunctional group, and together, they set off on a road trip to find Bartholomew’s father.”
This is the first writing project for White since his amazing HBO series ‘Enlightened’ was cancelled. Franco has been extremely busy lately. He’s on a Jude Law circa 2000 pace these days. He’s currently gearing up for ‘The Disaster Artist’ which focuses on the making of Tommy Wiseau’s cult classic of terribleness, ‘The Room’. Coming up this fall will be his next collaboration with Seth Rogan, ‘The Interview’. Take a look at the trailer below.
