Christian Bale OUT of Danny Boyle’s Steve Jobs Biopic

By: Jay Carlson

And Just like that, Christian Bale is out as Steve Jobs in Danny Boyle’s biopic based on Walter Isaacson’s authorized biography. The script is being written by Aaron Sorkin, who confirmed Bale’s casting himself a couple weeks ago stating, “We needed the best actor on the board in a certain age range and that’s Chris Bale. It’s an extremely difficult part and he’s gonna crush it.”

This news comes hot on the heels of news that Seth Rogen had entered negotiations to play Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak.

I was intrigued by the prospect of Bale’s Jobs and Rogen’s Wozniak playing off of each other. It was a strange pairing that may have worked really well. No news of who Boyle will be seeking out. Leonardo DiCaprio was previously approached by Boyle, who directed him previously in the underrated, The Beach.

How do you feel about Bale’s exit? Who do you think could fill Steve Jobs’ large shoes?
