Deadline is reporting that Krysten Ritter has won the role of Jessica Jones in the Netflix series, which is one of four currently being developed along with Daredevil, Luke Cage, Iron Fist & a Defenders mini-series.
She’s best known for a memorable role in Breaking Bad, and gained quite the following after starring in the short lived Don’t Trust The B- comedy series on ABC. Ritter won the role over Alexandra Daddario, Teresa Palmer and Jessica De Gouw.
The series focuses on Jessica Jones, a superhero suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder, which leads to her hanging up her costume and opening her own detective agency, where she ends up helping people and assisting other superheroes. The site also reveals that the actresses being eyed for Jessica Jones all tested with The Following’s Mike Colter, who it now appears will play Luke Cage. Cage had a romantic relationship with Jones and is set to appear in 6-8 episodes.
