A New Leatherface has Been Cast for Another Leatherface Prequel Story

by: S. Scott Stanikmas

Sam Strike, the actor who plays Johnny Carter on the U.K. drama EastEnders, is in talks to play Leatherface in an upcoming Texas Chainsaw Massacre prequel from Millennium Films, according to The Wrap.

The film is set to be helmed by French directors Julien Maury and Alexandre Bustillo. The duo was responsible for the cult horror hit Inside. They’ll be working off a script from up-and-comer Seth M. Sherwood.

It’s expected that Leatherface (the title of the project) will be an origin story that takes place in the 1970s and should follow the formative years of Leatherface, the man who would don the apron and skin-masks in so many of our collective nightmares.

If Strike does make a deal, he’ll play the role of Jackson, the teenager who grows up to be Leatherface.

This is the second EastEnders star in as many weeks that has been in talks for a major U.S. movie. Just recently Strike’s co-star Ben Hardy was said to be in talks for a prominent role in Bryan Singer’s upcoming X-Men: Apocalypse.
