So Where Does Oscar Isaac’s ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ Character Call Home?

by: S. Scott Stanikmas

Oscar Isaac, the Guatemalan actor that is taking the world by storm, may have just revealed where his Star Wars character Poe Dameron calls home.

In an interview with the Associated Press, Isaac had the following to say:

“What’s actually very interesting is that Yavin … at the end of the very first Star Wars … that last scene was shot in Guatemala and you know, I think that Poe Dameron is from that planet … and that’s a beautiful coincidence.”

He seems to be hinting that his character is from Yavin IV, the moon from A New Hope that had the landscape of Tikal.

Isaac has been crushing it lately on the big screen. He’s had critically acclaimed performances in films like A Most Violent Year & Ex Machina and gained major geek cred by landing roles in Star Wars and X-Men: Apocalypse (where he plays the titular villain). The sky seems to be the limit for Isaac at the moment.

I’m very excited to see what he can bring when he’s off in a galaxy far, far away.
