The Truth is out There and so is the ‘X-Files’ Premiere Date!

by: S. Scott Stanikmas

The new six-episode X-Files event will be here soon, according to FOX. But just how soon? Try the start of the New Year!

FOX, via Twitter, revealed that the upcoming premiere date for the new X-Files episodes will be Sunday January 24, 2016. But that’s not just any given Sunday (pun totally intended) – that’s the day of the NFC Championship Game. So Chris Carter will have not just his die-hards tuning in, but also a good portion of the country that just watched the game may be tuning in as well.

The first episode will air Sunday and every subsequent episode will air on Mondays. This means we get the first two episodes on back-to-back nights!

We know that David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson will return as Agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully respectively. Also returning is Mitch Pileggi as Walter Skinner.

What we don’t know is any plot details. FOX TV Chairperson Dana Walden said that we can expect “a mixture of standalones and deeper mythology” from the six episode set.

Get ready fans – January will be here before we know it.
