Production is gearing up in Boston on the set of Paul Feig’s female led Ghostbusters reboot and it looks like the filming may include Ray Stantz himself, Dan Aykroyd.

Our friend @RalfAcknowledge on twitter dropped images of the following documents that were delivered yeserday to his work by the property management company that owns the property. The first one clearly states Aykroyd along with Melissa McCarthy, Chris Hemsworth, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon and Cecily Strong will be on location for the shooting today. The second image tells us that it appears as though the Ghostbusters reboot is filming under the codename Flapjack.

I’d much rather none of the original cast appear in the reboot. If it’s separate, keep it separate. Obviously he’s not playing Ray in Feig’s film, but since they’re going out of their way to make this a such a separate thing, I’d rather not see any of the former cast popping up. It’s a distraction. Although, they frankly don’t seem too concerned with distractions, considering all of the “sly” references to the original films littered throughout Feig and Dipold’s script. (We exclusively broke the whole plot down back in April HERE) Considering his recent comments, it makes sense for Aykoryd to be playing nice and publicly endorsing Feig’s reboot. I’m just curious if this is to grasp at his former Ghostbusting glory (if you can’t beat them, join them) or if it’s to curry favor so that he’ll have a shot at his own long gestating Ghostbusters film that he doesn’t seem to want to let go of.

I hope there have been some radical changes made to the direction of the script in the last few months, because this film feels like a bad retread of the story we all know.

Here are a couple other images of the production signs from the nearby area as well:
