Director Paul Feig took to Twitter once again to reveal the first look at his new Ecto-1 today, a white Cadillac hearse from the mid 1980’s. The vehicle matches the description we ran in the full plot breakdown we ran back in AprilHow does the new Ecto-1 come to the team?

  • Patty (Leslie Jones) proposes that they let her join the team, offering them the use of her uncle’s vehicle for the business, an old white hearse.

It took a little while, but it was bound to happen sooner rather than later. Vulture managed to nab a shot of Melissa McCarthy on the set of the new Ghostbusters film and she’s in the new outfit that was debuted just last week.

I gotta say I’m totally underwhelmed. It looks like she’s wearing a giant potato sack. It makes her look frumpy and schlubby, which is too bad because she’s been doing a kick-ass job getting in shape. I’m not saying it needs to be one of those “naughty”-style Halloween outfits with the goodies popping out all over the place, but she’s been getting herself in better shape and she deserves better than an outfit like this.

Maybe it tightens up and looks a little better when the girls are rocking the proton packs. For now, I’m not impressed.

As for the new villain, say hello to Neil Casey. Deadline is reporting that Casey will play the main antagonist who goes by the name Rowan. We mentioned Rowan extensively in our exclusive plot breakdown that we ran back in April. He’s a creepy mechanical genius who has created a device that opens a door into our world. Originally Peter Dinklage was sought for the role.

Casey is known for his comedic chops, writing for shows like Inside Amy Schumer, SNL and The Kroll Show as well as having onscreen roles on such shows as Veep, The League and the Paul Feig-produced Yahoo! series Other Space.

Along with McCarthy, we should probably expect pics of fellow Ghostbusters Kristen Wiig, Leslie Jones and Kate McKinnon sometime soon.

The female-centric Ghostbusters, from director Paul Feig, is slated to hit theaters next summer.
