When Hugh Jackman pops the claws one last time as Wolverine he’s going to do it with a little help from his friends.
In a recent interview with Collider, Patrick Stewart confirmed the rumors that he would be part of the upcoming Wolverine solo film:
I think what you say is true. There is a project in development. I understand that Professor Xavier will be making more than an appearance, however, and that intrigues me. And the idea of an old Wolverine – I’m really looking forward to Hugh Jackman getting old. You know, damn him. He looks so great! So I’m hoping to see him covered in prosthetics, you know? And then he’ll make me look better if that’s the case.
Stewart had talked a few months back about being in the next Wolverine film, but he didn’t exactly how big a part. If they do continue with the idea of Old Man Logan (which seems to be what Stewart is hinting at), could Professor X take the Hawkeye role and set the Canadian mutant out on one last quest.
The James Mangold directed film is set to start production sometime soon and claw its way into theaters March 3, 2017.
