It would seem that the Ragin’ Cajun mutants has found his chere.
The shortlist of actresses for the female lead in Gambit got just a bit shorter when Rebecca Ferguson signed on to the thriller The Girl on the Train. And with that option off the table, FOX and director Rupert Wyatt have decided on just who will act opposite Channing Tatum.
French actress Lea Seydoux has reportedly been offered the main female role in the upcoming mutant film.
Seydoux just has an offer on the table right now according to Deadline – she could turn it down at any time. But if she does decide to join up. She’ll play Bella, the daughter of the head of the Assassin’s League.
Wyatt will direct from a script by screenwriter Josh Zetumer. He in turn worked his script off a treatment from Gambit co-creator Chris Claremont, a man who was responsible for co-writing many of the X-Men’s greatest storylines including the classic Dark Phoenix Saga.
Gambit is set to con its way into theaters October 7, 2016.
