Star Wars Episode VIII is still a little under two years away from hitting theaters, but it’s never too early to talk casting news.

A bevy of actresses are apparently up for a prominent role in the next official installment of the proper SW Universe of films, but The Wrap says that there are three women who are the cream of the crop as far as choices go.

Orphan Black’s Tatiana Maslany, Jane the Virgin’s Gina Rodriguez and Olivia Cooke from Me, Earl And The Dying Girl are said to be the top contenders for the undisclosed role.

Of the three the only one who might be the odd woman out may be Cooke, as she is rumored to be up for a role in Steven Spielberg’s Ready Player One, which would drop six months after Episode VIII so that could be a scheduling conflict.

These aren’t the only names being bandied about, but they are the three The Wrap went out of their way to name. This is still a ways off though. And word is that LucasFilm and Disney will be doing screentests opposite John Boyega later this month to check for onscreen chemistry so it could be anyone’s game.

We already know that Benicio del Toro has signed on to play the villain in the Rian Johnson-directed film. Who will be next to sign their name to the dotted line? Keep checking back here as we’ll post the news as it develops.

Star Wars Episode VIII will hit theaters May 26, 2017.
