John Wick, the sleeper hot of 2014 that seems to have reinvigorated Keanu Reeves career, is all set to start filming its sequel real soon.

Production company Thunder Road released the news in an press release along with the announcement of the upcoming film Outlaws Inc. Screenwriter Derek Kolstad will be writing the script that returning directors David Leitch and Chad Stahelski will film.

The description of the film is less than nothing, but still rather succinct:

In the follow up to last year’s adrenaline-fueled revenge and redemption thriller, legendary hit man John Wick is back.

At this point in time it doesn’t matter what the story is. All people care about is a bugnuts crazy action film that makes them forget about life for a few hours. Not every film needs to be high art to be enjoyable and the first John Wick was proof. It was the film equivalent of a fast food burger – it was what you craved at the moment and sometimes you just need the empty calories because they taste good!

I personally loved John Wick. I need good mindless action films in my diet as much as I need the award-bait. I’m just sad that no release date has been set, but with production set to start that could change any day now.
