Now that Lionsgate has found their Robin Hood in Taron Egerton the search is on for a strong leading lady to act opposite him. Deadline has word that a quartet of actresses are being eyed right now for the role.

First up is probably the most well-known, Gugu Mbatha-Raw. She’s had prominent roles in Beyond the Lights, Belle and Jupiter Ascending. She’s also got high profile films like Concussion and Beauty and the Beast in the pipeline.

Two of the lower profile ladies are Eve Hewson and Lucy Fry. Hewson can be seen on Showtime’s The Knick and the upcoming Steven Spielberg period piece Bridge Of Spies. Meanwhile Fry’s biggest claim to fame was Vampire Academy,

until the Hulu series 11/22/63 comes out.

The real wild card is Gaite Jansen. The Dutch actress hasn’t really made a splash over here yet so she might not be too well known to American audiences. This could be her big shot though.

Peaky Blinders director Otto Bathurst is all set to sit behind the camera and work from Joby Harold’s script. The project is said to be a priority for Lionsgate, as Disney and Warner Bros have their own films in development for the original Emerald Archer.

No release date has been announced, but filming is rumored to be starting in February 2016.
