Scott Derrickson’s Doctor Strange quietly began its filming this week in Nepal, earlier than reports of a December shoot. Most likely this is some second unit material, perhaps at the point that Cumberbatch’s Stephen Strange goes looking for the Ancient One (played by Tilda Swinton). Either way, we have our first look at Cumberbatch in character with a far less manicured face than we’re used to seeing him sport in the comics.

Derrickson’s Doctor Strange will also star Rachel McAdams, Chiwetel Ejiofor as Baron Mordo, Michael Stuhlbarg as Nicodemus West and Mads Mikkelsen. The Marvel Phase Three film is set to open November 4th 2016.

I think this one will be pretty epic. Marvel just started a new Dr. Strange series which I picked up both issues so far. I was fairly ignorant to who Strange was but I am enjoying the character so far.
