I’m getting older and everyone I care about is dying. And it’s shitty
For the better part of 50 years David Bowie was the coolest person in EVERY room he walked into. David Bowie was there for the weirdos, the druggies, the punks, the glam kids, the androgynous, the confused, everyone really. He showed us all its ok to be yourself and ALSO hey it’s ok to be a dude like Ziggy Stardust and be a go between for aliens from other planets. He also was relevant. STILL.
Just days ago I was having a conversation with somebody debating whether he would tour or not for his newest album released this past Friday, which was also his birthday. The new album, Blackstar, was given a 4 star review by Rolling Stone upon its release and his play “Lazarus” is currently playing on Broadway! David Bowie was BACK…again.
When Bowie did something everyone took creative notice, right up until his last day. Although he is gone, he will continue to be discovered by generations of kids who don’t fit it, who don’t want to fit in…
“I don’t know where I’m going from here, but I promise it won’t be boring” – David Bowie
