After battling hordes of zombies, taking down terrorists should be a piece of cake.
Corey Hawkins, who had a career-making role as a young Dr. Dre in Straight Outta Compton and currently stars as Heath in AMC’s hit drama The Walking Dead, has been cast in FOX’s 24 reboot, 24: Legacy.
The actor will play Eric Carter, a military hero whose return to U.S. soil is followed by forces that may wish to do him harm. This prompts Carter to seek out the agents at CTU for help in thwarting what may end up being one of the biggest terror threats to hit our soil.
The show will star an as-yet-uncast female lead. This formula is a big departure from every other season of the series which was headlined by Kiefer Sutherland’s kick-ass Agent Jack Bauer.
Currently there are no plans to include any past cast members of the previous seasons of 24. There may be mentions here and there but word is that we shouldn’t hold our breath expecting a cameo from Chloe O’Brian anytime soon.
I was originally on the fence about this. I had a lot of love for my Jack Bauer Power Hour and was very loyal to Kiefer. But with the presence of Hawkins, who is slowly churning out great performances on the big and small screens, I’m more apt to give this one a shot.
