Bruce Willis’ ‘Death Wish’ Finds it’s Directors!

Death Wish

According to the good people over at Deadline,  Aharon Keshales and Navot Papushado have signed to direct the remake of Death Wish for Paramount & MGM starring Bruce Willis. The original was released in 1974 and starred Charles Bronson as Paul Kersey, an architect who becomes a vigilante after his wife is murdered and daughter is sexually assaulted during a home invasion.

The duo, who is best known for directing the indie hit Big Bad Wolves in 2013, will direct a film that will more closely follow the book, released in 1972 that the film. The new version of the film will focus on an architect, played by Willis, whose life is in ruins after a violent crime is committed against his wife and daughter. Frustrated that the perps are not held accountable for their crime, he takes to the streets and begins to take out each member of the gang one by one.

Now if you unfamiliar with Keshales & Papushado’s work, Netflix currently has Big Bad Wolves streaming and I couldn’t recommend it more. It’s a perfect mix of revenge, black comedy and tension rolled into one neat little package. Plus, Quentin Tarantino called it the best movie of 2013, so that’s saying something right there. Production is set to begin this summer with an undetermined release date.
