Spielberg Favorite David Koepp Writing ‘Indiana Jones 5’

Indiana Jones

Fans have split into two camps over the announcement of Indiana Jones 5 – they either really love the idea or really hate the idea. And the announcement of who is set to write it isn’t helping matters either.

David Koepp, a Steven Speilberg stalwart, has been tapped to write the next adventure of the septuagenarian (or will it be octogenarian) archaeologist.

It is currently unknown if Koepp will be working from scratch or off an existing treatment. There have been numerous ideas floated around over the years so it could be something we’ve already heard about or it could be a brand new story concept.

Koepp is known for writing some pretty decent films. His name has been attached to things like Sam Raimi’s first Spider-Man, Jurassic Park, Toy Soldiers and Death Becomes Her. But he’s also had his hands on some stinkers like Indiana Jones And The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull and Angels & Demons.

The jury is still out on this one. I’m on the fence right now as well. I’ll keep an open mind until I hear story points or an early draft leaks somehow. When that happens you can bet all the writers here at IR will voice their opinion.
