Tick

The internet was abuzz a few weeks back when it was announced that Amazon will be reviving The Tick as a live-action show. But the bad news was that Patrick Warburton, former star of said live-action series would not be returning to don the blue suit.

So the hunt began by Tick creator Ben Edlund (and the man behind the revival) to find a new actor to shout “SPOON!” But the hunt is now over as that special actor has been signed.

According to The Wrap, Peter Serafinowicz has been tapped to play the big blue lug in the upcoming show.

Peter SerafinowiczSerafinowicz has much geek cred, with roles in films like Shaun Of The Dead, Guardians Of The Galaxy and Star Wars: The Phantom Menace (as the voice of Darth Maul). This is just another check mark on an already impressive career.

The rumored story veers very much from the cult favorite 2001 show. In the newest incarnation, The Tick has amnesia. He will still team with Arthur, his trusted sidekick who dresses as a moth, even though the latter is labeled as a schizophrenic due to his rants about the end of the world.

I’m excited to see what Serafinowicz brings to the table on this one. His dry and wry sense of humor might make this as enjoyable as the original live-action series or even the lovable 90s cartoon.

Now,  can we get Michael Pena as Batmanuel?
