Check Out the Trailer for A24’s ‘De Palma’ Documentary Directed by Noah Baumbach and Jake Paltrow!

De Palma

The 1970’s was a weird time for the studios, they were antiquated and out of touch and as a result their films were failing. It was at this vulnerable point they gave a handful of very talented filmmakers power to make films that would connect with audiences and make them their profits. Brian De Palma was one of those directors that included Spielberg, Coppola, Friedkin, Lucas and Scorsese. Within a ten year period from the early seventies to the early eighties De Palma directed Sisters, Phantom of the Paradise, Obsession, Carrie, The Fury, Dressed to Kill, Blow Out and Scarface. (Not to mention the other greats that he’s made in the years since.)

Noah Baumbach and Jake Paltrow have put together a documentary that puts you front in center of the director himself telling the tales of his storied career and I couldn’t be more pleased. Take a look at the trailer, if you’re like me this little taste will have you begging for more. Not to worry, as the film will be released by A24 this summer on June 10th.
