Not too long ago news broke that Tessa Thompson was going to be in Thor: Ragnarok while Natalie Portman would not be returning for the tertiary installment.

Speculation ran rampant as to why Portman and her character of Jane Foster would not be returning. Was there animosity between the actress and the studio? Did she cost too much? Did she not get along with her co-stars?

Well all the guesswork has been take out as Marvel Studios head honcho Kevin Feige finally confirmed (via the Empire Film Podcast) that Portman would not be in the third Thor film and why:

There are only a couple of scenes on Earth in this movie. 80 to 90 percent takes place in the cosmos.

So it’s just a story decision and nothing to do with Portman herself? If that’s the case, it’s good to know that if the God Of Thunder survives the end of times for Asgard that Jane Foster will still be there for him…as long as she hasn’t moved on from him not being around for a few years again.

We’ll get to see just how it all shakes out when Thor: Ragnarok rumbles into theaters November 3, 2017.
