As is the case with a lot of movies, studios with release dates around to get the most bang for their buck. In FOX’s case they seem to be doing one move that was inevitable and keeping fans on their toes with some other release date info.

BoxOffice.com released the news on Twitter that Gambit, the Channing Tatum-led film about X-Men mutant Remy LeBeau, has officially been scrapped from its October 2016 release date. This comes as no surprise due to the setbacks that have plagued the film, from securing Tatum earlier than they should have to losing their original director and having to hunt for a new one.

Word is that FOX was hoping the character would take the place of Wolverine now that Hugh Jackman is set to sheath the claws after his next film.

FOX also announced dates for not one but TWO mystery Marvel movies. October 6, 2017 and January 12, 2018 will belong to FOX Marvel films. Speculation is that October will be the new date for Gambit while a Deadpool sequel will give is something to live for in the post-Award Season cesspool that is the first few months of the new year.

Nothing has been confirmed as of yet though. For all we know FOX might be doing something different with Gambit and those dates might be for a Deadpool sequel and a now hinted at X-Force film. Or we could be getting a new Fantastic Four movie. Third time’s the charm right?

Seeing as one of these movies is now on a spot previously spoken for by Alien: Covenant, that film has now gotten pushed up. The Ridley Scott sci-fi piece will now hit at the tail end of Summer Blockbuster Season, releasing on August 4, 2017.

And after getting an official teaser poster we now have word on Shane Black’s Predator reboot. We can expect to see (or not see depending on if he has his camoflauge on) the alien hunter in theaters March 2, 2018.
