Edgar Wright’s next project Baby Driver has grown by one and it’s an excellent addition.
Variety confirms that Jon Bernthal has joined the cast of Wright’s film. The actor joins the already impressive cast of Ansel Elgort, Lily James, Jon Hamm, Jamie Foxx and Kevin Spacey.
The film follows a young talented getaway driver who follows his own beat. He gets coerced into working for a crime boss and soon finds himself on the run when a heist-gone-wrong threatens his life and the girl he loves.
Bernthal’s role is currently under wraps, bit if Wright is smart he’ll cast him as a menacing badass (like he’s proven he can do so many times before). Maybe he could even be the one that gets sent after the getaway driver after the failed heist.
Wright’s film is set to start production sometime this spring with an eye on a release date of March 17, 2017.
In the meantime you can catch Bernthal in his highly anticipated debut as Frank Castle / The Punisher on the second season of Netflix/Marvel’s Daredevil, which debuts this March.
