Last night Jimmy Kimmel Live premiered the newest trailer for Zack Snyder’s upcoming Batman V Superman:
Ten Pounds in a Five Pound Bag Dawn of Justice.
I’ve been totally skeptical of this project and Warner/DC’s reasons for making it. They’re trying to compete with Marvel and be Marvel without putting in any of the work to develop their own universe. Instead they’ve opted for the approach of cramming EVERYONE in BvS so they can get their Avengers payday. Eisenberg, who I really like as an actor looks like a stooge in this first real look we’re given, not the dangerous super-genius I was expecting (I’m sure he gets better, but this look was silly) and right at the end they jump the shark and drop Doomsday (rumored about long ago) who is actually Zod into the mix.
Strangely present was multiple spots of humor. These DC films were supposedly going to be humor free, apparently that is not the case now?
Either way, this trailer has done nothing to excite me about anything DC is doing with their film universe.
Make mine Marvel…
