Today, The Defenders official Twitter page announced that Elodie Yung will be returning as Elektra in next year’s The Defenders. The Defenders will see heroes Daredevil (Charlie Cox), Jessica Jones (Kyrsten Ritter), Luke Cage (Mike Colter) and Iron Fist (Finn Jones) unite to fight a bigger enemy, and save New York.

Spoilers for Daredevil Season 2 to follow…..
For those of you who have seen Daredevil season 2, you will know that it does not end well for the unpredictable Elektra. However, it was clear that Elodie’s character was not quite finished. After her death, she was seen being placed into a chamber by the ninja’s of The Hand, along with an ancient device (potentially able to resurrect a person), left Elektra’s future ambiguous. With this announcement comes confirmation that her character will return in some way, but what, and who will she be fighting for now?
Marvel’s The Defenders will begin streaming ON Netflix sometime in 2017. Shortened to 8 episodes and full to the brim with a great cast – I’d say we’re in for a real treat!
