Now that 10 Cloverfield Lane has turned out to be a big hit with critics and audiences, Paramount is very high on moving forward with J.J. Abrams next producing project, The God Particle.

Directed by Julius Onah, the newest Abrams-produced film has been very secretive about a lot. Past claims were that the story would revolve around astronauts on a spaceship that would witness the Earth disappearing due to a hadron collider mishap. It’s not know whether or not this will still be the main story, but Abrams’ mystery box did creak open enough for a couple of big names to slip out.

According to Variety David Oyelowo and Gugu Mbatha-Raw have signed on to star in the sci-fi flick.

Oyelowo has been killing it in high-end dramas like Selma and The Captive, while Mbatha-Raw has been all over the place with projects like Belle, Jupiter Ascending and Concussion. The two teaming up together on the big screen should yield some pretty powerful performances.

It’s currently unknown if this will tie into the Clover-verse. Even though some people crapped all over the fact that 10 Cloverfield Lane wasn’t a direct sequel to the original monster movie, it wasn’t supposed to be and neither would this film. If there were little nods to the other two films I’d like that but it doesn’t need to happen. As long as the story is good and the acting is on point, I’m there.

The God Particle is currently slated for a February 24, 2017 release.
