Bad Boys

Sony has put their money where their mouth is and officially announced that we’ll be getting at least two more Bad Boys films before the end of the current decade.

While announcing a slew of films on their upcoming docket, they happened to mention that Bad Boys 3 will drop February 17, 2017 and Bad Boys 4 will hit July 3, 2019.

The last anyone heard, Joe Carnahan was being courted for the director’s chair for the third installment and that he’d be re-writing the script from screenwriter David Guggenheim.

Stars Martin Lawrence and Will Smith haven’t been announced for the films just yet, but you can’t do Bad Boys without these two. Sony must feel like they’ve got them committed, if they haven’t already put pen to paper and the studio is just looking for the right time to tell the press.

Will Smith has a busy schedule, finishing up Suicide Squad and then reportedly jumping right into Collateral Beauty and then possibly into this franchise.

Some fans might be a little let down that Michael Bay won’t be helming the next film, but Carnahan is a solid choice with his background.
