Jude Law is in negotiations to play the villain in director Guy Ritchie’s King Arthur pic, Knights of the Round Table, slated for July 22, 2016.

Law would be re-teaming with director Ritchie after working with him on Sherlock Holmes and the sequel Game of Shadows. Charlie Hunnam will play King Arthur &  Astrid Bergès-Frisbey has entered talks to play Lady Guinevere. The idea is for Warner Bros. and Village Roadshow to kickstart a new franchise of Arthurian films, with the story unfolding over six installments.

Currently it is unknown if Law will play the villain in all 6 or just the first film. Idris Elba was in talks to play King Arthur’s mentor but talks fell through between both sides and the role remains currently un-cast.
