Richard Linklater has begun his casting search to That’s What I’m Talking About, a film he sees as the “spiritual sequel to Dazed and Confused.” The film takes place in the 1980’s and focuses on a group of college freshmen trying to make the baseball team.
The first reports are that Linklater has offers out to Tyler Hoechlin (Road to Perdition, Teen Wolf), Blake Jenner (Glee) and Wyatt Russell (22 Jump St).
Linklater recently dropped out of the remake of The Incredible Mr. Limpet in order to focus more on That’s What I’m Talking About. I love that after Boyhood Linklater is focusing on a more personal project, rather than cashing in on a guaranteed paycheck.
I’m looking forward to a new Linklater film in the vein of of Dazed and Confused. What about you? What did you think about Boyhood?
