Marc Webb to Direct ‘Limitless’ Pilot for CBS

Deadline is reporting that Marc Webb (The Amazing Spider-Man) is stepping in to replace Neil Burger as the director of the Limitless pilot for CBS TV Studios, K/O Paper Products and Relativity Media. Burger directed the original 2011 film, which grossed over $161 million in the box office, but had to back out of directing the pilot because he’s still working on the pilot Billions for Showtime. He will remain as an executive producer with original star Bradley Cooper, Alex Kurtzman & Roberto Orci.

The pilot will be written and executive produced by Craig Sweeny. The show will follow a new character, Brian Sinclair, who uses the drug NZT and the abilities he gains from it to solve weekly cases for the FBI. Other executive producers include Ryan Kavanaugh, Tucker Tooley, and Tom Forman through Relativity Television, K/O’s Heather Kadin and Todd Phillips (Cooper’s partner at Yet To Be Named Company).

The plot of the TV series shifts from the original plot which centered on Bradley Cooper as a struggling writer who, with the help of a mysterious pill that enables the user to access 100 percent of his brain abilities, becomes a financial wizard, but it also puts him in a new world with lots of dangers.
