Play ball! Richard Linklater’s follow-up project to Boyhood finally gets a release date. And on top of that, the director may have found his next project after that as well.

Let’s start with the director’s immediate follow-up. The baseball comedy with the rumored titles That’s What I’m Talking About or Everybody Wants Some has set a release date near opening day of America’s favorite pastime. Paramount Pictures announced that the film will hit theaters on April 15, 2016.

The film, which is being called the “spiritual sequel to Dazed and Confused,” follows a group of college baseball players as they navigate life in the early 1980’s.

After that, it looks like Sony is courting the filmmaker to take over the adaptation of the Graeme Simison novel The Rosie Project. Deadline broke the news that Linklater was the next in line in the studio’s eyes for the job after Phil Lord and Chris Miller dropped out to direct a Star Wars: Anthology film.

The project is a romantic comedy based around a scientist who tries to find a wife in the most scientific and orderly way. But when he meets a woman who challenges his way of thinking, it starts to dawn on him that love may not be quantifiable.

Jennifer Lawrence has already signed on to star in the film.

The story sounds cliche and very much like your basic rom-com, but with Linklater at the wheel I could be convinced to see this.
