Miles Teller, the young actor making waves for his performance in the new film Whiplash, is set to star in Marc Webb’s newest project The Only Living Boy In New York, Variety reports.
Logan Lerman was originally set to star in this back when word was leaked of Webb’s involvement around 2012, but it seems those plans have changed.
The film’s premise has Teller playing a young man who finds out that his father is having an affair. The young man tries to stop the affair and in the process ends up becoming involved with the woman himself.
With Teller’s commitment to the film, this may move The Only Living Boy In New York to the top of Webb’s to-do list, despite the myriad of commitments he already has. Webb is still signed for at least one more film with Fox Searchlight, and word is that will be a movie called The Gifted. There’s also the Amazing Spider-Man franchise that he’s been an integral part of. But with Sony moving their plans around like a Three Card Monte game, it’s really anyone’s guess as to whether or not Webb will even be needed at this point.
