Who didn’t love the Lego movie? It was one of the great movies to appeal to kids and parent’s alike. Hell, there were quite a few childless adults in the theater when I went. Everyone loves Legos. I may or may not have a Lego Delorian on my desk which will soon be joined by the Ecto-1 From Ghostbusters.
Dan Shearn has taken his love of Legos and created some great pieces for Hero Complex Gallery’s pop-up show opening tomorrow. Below you’ll see some exclusive pieces which is just a smattering of what will be available at the show. There are a couple that we need here at the Indie Revolver office.
Hero Complex Gallery’s Official Press Release:
On the heels of the immense success and DVD release of The LEGO Movie, HCG is proud to present the Pop Up Show and Dan Shearn’s first Solo Show “LEGO Memories (Or a Man-Child’s Recollection of the 80’s Through Lego)” opening on Friday, June 20th.
This personal project first sprung from Dan’s own love of playing with Legos as a child, and as a child of the 80’s he decided he’d create his own mini figures in art based on his favorite 80’s icons. Dan has created over 60 new pieces for this show, so be sure to come and see his creations in person. And the best part is that most of the pieces in the show are only $20 so they make for great gifts for the LEGO mini fig fan in all of us!
