Danny Trejo Returns to the ‘From Dusk Till Dawn’ Universe

Danny Trejo and Robert Rodriguez are teaming up again. After casting the actor in numerous projects, Rodriguez has now cast Trejo in his From Dusk Till Dawn TV show that airs on the auteur’s El Rey network.

Trejo was part of the original film, playing vampire bartender Razor Charlie. Razor won’t be coming back this time though (at least not portrayed by Danny). Instead the tough guy will play The Regulator, an evil agent sent to perform a deadly errand.

Also cast is Step Up 2’s Briana Evigan. She’ll play a Mexican tattoo artist that also has a side gig forging papers and passports out of her backroom.

The second season of the show is currently under production in Austin, TX.

I love the El Rey network. Whether it’s the unique wrestling on Lucha Underground, the old-school martial arts movies, the Thanksgiving Godzilla movies marathon, the Grindhouse horror and westerns or (my personal favorite) the interview show The Director’s Chair, I can’t get enough of El Rey. This is just another reason for me to keep my TV glued to that station.

No premiere date has been set as of yet, but that’s okay. As long as the quality is up to snuff, it’ll be worth the wait.
