Recently director Paul Feig had a bit of a meltdown on Twitter about the spoiling of the cameos in his Ghostbusters film. He apparently wanted them all to be surprises, but with the world we live in it’s to be expected that most things can’t stay a secret for long.

Which is why it’s a little sad that he’s spoiling the next cameo announcement himself via Twitter:

Gang, trying to keep surprises but this is about to leak, so I’ll tell you myself: the awesome Sigourney Weaver is going to be in our movie!

So just to beat the punch on some website, Feig spoils it himself? It’s not like I’m up in arms about this but his attitude makes no sense to me. With him recently flipping his wig about the media spoiling things and being up his ass about every decision he makes, it seems like he’s doing this to spite the press.

With Annie Potts being confirmed for a role in the movie it looks like they’ve gotten everyone from the first film to give this one unofficial stamp of approval. I’m not holding my breath for Rick Moranis as he’s pretty much said he’s done with acting and I don’t think a fat check in exchange for his integrity will change that.

Dan Akroyd, Bill Murray and Ernie Hudson have all filmed their cameos already. While the film has the same name as the 1984 classic it has no direct connection (Other than taking more than a little from the originals script) so the actors won’t be playing the characters that they made famous.
