He’s already been knighted but is he Kingsman material?
The Hollywood Reporter has sources that tell them Sir Elton John may be up for a role in Matthew Vaughn’s Kingsman: The Golden Circle, the sequel to 2015’s hit spy-action flick.
If he signs on the musician / actor would join returning stars Taron Egerton and Mark Strong and newcomers Halle Berry, Julianne Moore and Pedro Pascal. While unconfirmed Colin Firth is also rumored to reprise his role(even though he did technically die in the last film).
While it wasn’t announced who Sir Elton would play it was speculated that he could be playing himself. That would be neat – Elton John as a deep undercover operative working in plain sight.
Director Matthew Vaughn is returning to helm the sequel (something the filmmaker has yet to do on ANY of his previous projects) and is also co-writing the script with screenwriter Jane Goldman. The next installment would see the British elite spies known as the Kingsman traveling across the pond to join forces with their American counterparts, The Statesman.
Kingsman: The Golden Circle is slated for theatrical release on June 16, 2017.
