It was announced a few months ago that CBS has committed to develop a new series based on Superman’s cousin. A new report from The Sun claims that British actress and model Gemma Atkinson has auditioned for the role of Supergirl in the upcoming adaptation of the DC Comics property.

The SUN claims that she’s auditioned for the iconic role, and while the source is obviously far from reliable, an audition, at the very least, seems like a possibility.

Atkinson is an unknown in the US, having done the majority of her film work in the UK, which is  exactly what CBS and DC Entertainment could be looking for. I would take this one with a grain of salt for the time being but Atkinson definitely has the look of Kara Zor-El.
