While fans may have come out in droves to Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice the critics (and non-critics) have spoken and many said that the film was not that good. One common complaint was that it was too serious and not fun enough. Aside from that, you can bet that the performance of both Deadpool and Guardians of the Galaxy were big pieces of this decision.

Well, Warner Bros is looking to make sure that their next film doesn’t have that problem as Suicide Squad has been ordered to do some reshoots to add a bit more fun to the proceedings.

Birth. Movies.Death got the word that the film was heading back in front of the cameras to add some extra levity. While the scenes won’t be completely brand new it would seem that the studio is looking to pump up some of the funnier moments. Rumor has it that the newest trailer (the one set to Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody”) actually gave away almost all the jokes in the film. So to try and steer clear of another BVS we’ll be getting something a bit lighter and maybe darkly funny in tone.

While we won’t be getting Deadpool we’ll most likely be seeing a film a bit more different than the one director David Ayer had planned…a film that was so dark it was said the filmmaker needed to hire an on-set therapist to help people cope with the things that they were doing.

I gotta say that after watching the last trailer I’d be bummed if this was a totally serious flick. When I first heard about it I thought it would be DC’s answer to Guardians Of The Galaxy, bringing equal amounts funny, action and drama.

With the August 5 release date closely approaching, hopefully the studio and David Ayer can figure out exactly what they want this film to be – before they kill the already struggling DC Cinematic Universe.
