Hugh Jackman Teases Sabertooth and Berserker Rage for ‘Wolverine 3’

Wolverine 2

Recently Hugh Jackman took to Twitter and asked his fans to tell him what they most want to see when he pops his claws for the last time in the third Wolverine solo film.

In an interview with The Daily Telegraph (via Screenrant), Jackman gave us some hints as to what the populace has been asking for.

“[There were] Lots of calls for Victor Creed to come back,” Jackman said. The actor is of course referencing the name of Wolverine’s biggest adversary, otherwise known as the mutant Sabretooth. Played by actors Tyler Mane and Liev Schriber, the villain is pretty much like Joker is to Batman or Green Goblin to Spider-Man. With a healing factor and heightened senses, he’s like an evil version of Wolverine.

If this is the last time we see Jackman as the Canadian mutant, it would be nice to see some closure put on the matter of his biggest nemesis.

Another thing fans are asking for is the return of the berserker rage. “If you’re a fan of the comics, then you should know that the words ‘berserker rage’ came up a lot,” Jackman said. “If you know Wolverine, you’ll understand.”

The berserker rage is when Wolverine lets his animal bloodlust take over and he goes into automatic, killing anything in his wake. We got a glimpse of it in X2: X-Men United, but it would be nice to see Logan let loose and really kill a bunch of bad guys.

The James Mangold-directed film is set to hit theaters on March 3, 2017, with Hugh Jackman returning as the titular mutant and Patrick Stewart reprising his role of Professor X as well.
