Kay Cannon, best known for writing the two Pitch Perfect films (as well as being tapped for the upcoming third installment), is all set to make her directorial debut with what sounds to be a raunchy comedy.
Variety reports that Cannon will helm The Pact, a film from the famed Blacklist of unproduced scripts floating around Hollywood. The original script was written by Brian and Jim Kehow (and was first titled Cherries) and is getting a touch-up rewrite by Eben Russell (Cannon’s husband).
The Pact focuses on a group of three parents who find out that their daughters have all made a promise to lose their virginities on prom night. The parents are now on a mission to stop that from happening at any cost.
This sounds like it could be a fun, raunchy R-rated comedy if the studio lets it and with Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg producing it may have that chance.
No start date for production or release date were mentioned at this time.
